Parfums de Marly Delina smells like a fresh rose dipped in juicy lychee with a sharp little rhubarb twist. It’s feminine and romantic, but definitely not shy or old-fashioned. Delina takes the classic idea of a rose perfume and makes it brighter, fruitier and more playful, with tart fruit cutting through the flowers before everything settles into soft musk and smooth woods.

 

The opening is what makes Delina instantly recognizable. Lychee comes through juicy, sweet and almost watery, while bergamot adds sparkle. Then rhubarb cuts straight through that sweetness with a tart, slightly green bite.

 

That rhubarb is important. Without it, Delina could easily become another pretty fruity-floral. Instead, there's this delicious sweet-versus-sour tension—juicy lychee on one side and tangy rhubarb on the other.

 

Then the rose arrives.

Damascena rose sits right at the center of Delina, but forget the heavy, powdery rose perfume you might be imagining. Here, the rose feels vibrant and alive, almost as if you're smelling freshly cut pink roses with drops of lychee juice sitting on the petals.

 

A touch of nutmeg adds subtle warmth and spice behind the rose, keeping the heart from becoming overly delicate. Parfums de Marly officially lists bergamot, lychee and rhubarb in the opening, Damascena rose and nutmeg in the heart, followed by cashmeran, musk and vetiver.

 

As Delina dries down, the juicy fruitiness slowly becomes softer and the fragrance develops a completely different texture.

 

Cashmeran gives the base a smooth, slightly woody warmth while musk creates that clean, soft-skin feeling. Vetiver adds a subtle dry greenness underneath, preventing the rose and fruit from becoming overly sweet.
