Parfums de Marly Althaïr Exclusif smells like warm amaretto poured over rich Bourbon vanilla and praline, dusted with cinnamon and saffron, then finished over smoky woods. It takes the creamy vanilla DNA of the original Althaïr and pushes it into a darker, richer and more gourmand direction. Parfums de Marly classifies Althaïr Exclusif as an ambery woody gourmand, built around intensified Bourbon vanilla, saffron and amaretto.

 

The opening immediately feels more decadent than the original.

Amaretto brings a smooth almond-like, slightly boozy sweetness, while saffron adds a warm, subtly leathery spice. Bergamot cuts through the richness with just enough citrus brightness to stop the opening from becoming too thick.

 

Imagine an amaretto cocktail beside warm vanilla pastries, with a few strands of saffron crushed over the top.

Praline, cinnamon and cardamom move into the heart, creating a warm gourmand effect that almost feels edible. Praline brings a roasted, caramelized nuttiness, cinnamon adds heat, and cardamom gives the sweetness a slightly fresher aromatic spice.
